The Uganda Rugby Union over the weekend announced a new partnership with Sofascore, a globally renowned sports data and analytics platform, as its Official Online Competition Statistics Partner.
This collaboration, unveiled during Game Week Three of the Nile Special Rugby Premiership, promises to revolutionize how Ugandan rugby competitions are covered and experienced by fans, players, and stakeholders alike.
Through the partnership, Sofascore will provide real-time updates for all Elite Leagues in Uganda, including the Nile Special Rugby Premiership, Nile Special Women Rugby Premiership, and the Reserve League.
The platform’s analytics will offer clubs, coaches, players, and fans access to live updates and data, ensuring a more engaging and informed rugby experience.
Ramsey Olinga, Uganda Rugby Union’s Chief Technical Officer, hailed the partnership as a significant step forward in URU’s strategic vision.
“Partnering with Sofascore marks a significant step forward in how we connect rugby to our fans and stakeholders,” said Olinga. “By offering real-time updates and insights, we’re ensuring that everyone—from coaches and players to supporters at home—stays engaged and informed. This partnership supports our broader mission of growing the game in Uganda by making it more accessible, transparent, and data-driven.”
Sofascore, which covers over 500 leagues, cups, and tournaments worldwide, will now showcase Ugandan rugby competitions alongside global sporting events.
Its user-friendly digital platform delivers live match statistics, league tables, and insights without the need for constant page refreshes, keeping fans connected with minimal effort.
The partnership also represents a significant step toward elevating the profile of Ugandan rugby on the global stage, ensuring local competitions receive the same level of professional coverage as some of the world’s largest sporting events.
