If you’re reading this, then you are probably, like me, a fan of Ugandan rugby.
I have such childlike excitement and enthusiasm for this sport played by boys & girls and men & women with an oval-shaped ball that I spend hours every day consuming everything rugby.
For me and others like me, Saturday plans are influenced by match schedules and the rest of the week is spent catching up on highlight reels and Twitter spaces. The sport has engrossed us with a Fear-Of-Missing-Out in the form of must-attend events in person and rib-cracking banter on social media.
We all enjoy our rugby!
The slight distinction between me and many others is that I am also a sports journalist. This means that sometimes, I get accredited access to the action and breathe the same air as the talented athletes. I also have eyes and ears within the corridors of power in Ugandan rugby, and my voice has a tiny sprinkling of power to it.

It’s as much a privilege as it is a responsibility. A privilege to be in spaces where my dreams would never take me and a responsibility to exhibit a high degree of competence, integrity and honesty.
My personal goal is to be the best sports journalist and sports broadcast personality in Uganda. My previous roles and early experiences have built a strong foundation for me to achieve this goal and I’m now ready to step it up to the next level.
This is why I could not resist the chance, when it came knocking, to join NBS Sport — the only 24/7 television in Uganda dedicated to sport and sport only.
I am now part of a team of talented, skilled and experienced professionals with a vision to become the leading multimedia group for East Africa.
I feel goosebumps on my skin and butterflies in my stomach when my mind remembers that although I’m starting a new journey in a new place, I’m not only going to continue what I’ve always enjoyed doing but also experience new firsts and growth.
Growth, like almost everything in life, is not linear. There will be peaks, plateaus and troughs, and I am eager to experience them all.
At NBS Sport, I look forward to learning from the best and sharing my knowledge with them. I will also embrace the full experience of the NBS Sport culture.
So, if you need unbeatable coverage and expert analysis of Ugandan rugby, breaking news from across the game, and extensive conversations on off-field issues, it is now all here.
I will not shy away from asking difficult questions or tackling uncomfortable complex subjects. Neither will I compromise the quality you have come to know and expect of me in my work.
I will also continue doing the fun stuff of data visualisations and graphic charts, publishing audio-visual content, and expressing myself freely.
With me and in me comes a passion and dedication for rugby that has never been seen before in a Ugandan newsroom. I love Ugandan rugby and I enjoy telling the world about it.
If you’re still reading this, then you are most definitely, like me, a fan of Ugandan rugby.
