The Panthers v She Wolves match in Round 9 of the 2025 women’s Uganda Rugby Premiership scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 at Legends Rugby Grounds was called off.
This followed an unexpected change of plans and a string of emails between the two teams and the Uganda Rugby Union (URU).
At about 10 p.m. on Friday — the night before the match, Panthers received an email from URU informing them that She Wolves would be unable to honour the fixture.
However, early on Saturday morning, the She Wolves team and management travelled two-hundred kilometres from Mbale and by noon, were at Legends Rugby Grounds in Lugogo, Kampala awaiting kickoff.
But, owing to the Friday night notification, Panthers had aborted all plans to host the match and thus, were not at the venue and in no position to regroup on such short notice.
Thus, the match commissioner Ronnie Lutakome was left with no choice but to call off the match.
NBS Sport is informed that a report has been forwarded to URU’s technical committee and a decision on how to proceed will be made.
