Uganda is the 2025 Victoria Cup champion after a commanding performance at Mt. Kipipiri Golf & Resort in Naivasha, Kenya.
The Ugandan team sealed victory with a total of 14.5 points, defeating defending champions and hosts Kenya, who finished with 11.5 points.
After last year’s heartbreak, where Uganda tied with Kenya but lost the title due to the defending champions’ advantage, the team entered this year’s tournament determined to reclaim the trophy.
They delivered a strong performance across the match-play format, securing crucial points on the final day to seal the win.
Uganda captain Joseph Cwinyaai, elated by the triumph, credited the team’s hard work and resilience.
“All glory to God for our victory in the Victoria Cup! Huge congratulations to the entire team for an outstanding performance. Proud to lead such an incredible group. Welcome home, champions,” said Joseph.
The victory marks a major milestone for Ugandan golf, reaffirming the team’s strength in the regional competition.
With this win, Uganda has now set its sights on future international tournaments, hoping to build on the momentum from their Victoria Cup triumph.
