The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially granted Egypt the hosting rights for the 2025 TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
The announcement follows the withdrawal of Côte d’Ivoire, which had been initially slated to host the tournament.
Côte d’Ivoire’s Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) and government cited unforeseen circumstances as the reason for their inability to organize the event. Egypt, having previously submitted a bid, stepped in to ensure the tournament’s continuity.
The competition will kick off on Sunday, April 27, 2025, with the final scheduled for Sunday, May 18, 2025.
Egypt’s hosting marks another milestone in the nation’s longstanding history with African football tournaments.
The TotalEnergies CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations promises to showcase some of the continent’s brightest young talents as teams compete for glory and the chance to make their mark on African football.
