The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has released its 2025 Capacity Building Calendar, outlining a comprehensive plan aimed at strengthening the technical and administrative expertise of football stakeholders across Uganda.
The schedule, covering January to December 2025, was officially communicated in a circular issued by Mr. Kiiza Decolas Hantali, FUFA’s Deputy CEO in charge of Football.
The initiative is part of FUFA’s ongoing strategy to professionalize the sport through education and structured training programs.
According to FUFA, the calendar serves three main purposes: to guide course organizers in planning and executing training programs each quarter, to help stakeholders prepare in advance for upcoming courses, and to improve visibility around FUFA’s capacity-building efforts.
In the first quarter (January–March), foundational and refresher courses were rolled out successfully.
These included FAMACO I & II governance sessions held in Kisaasi, Lira, Rubanga and other centers, alongside beginner coaching and refereeing courses conducted in FTC-Njeru, Nakawa, Mbale, Lukuli, and Kamuli. Two CAF C Diploma courses also began in Soroti and Kampala in March.
Quarter two (April–June) will introduce futsal-specific education and a series of CAF D Coaching Courses across Regional Football Associations (RFAs). Notably, the FIFA Elite Youth Goalkeeping and Coaching Courses will be conducted at FTC-Njeru in May, while June will see the launch of CAF Coach Educator and CAF B Coaching Diploma courses, targeting top-performing candidates from across Uganda.
From July to September, the third quarter focuses on specialized modules such as Medical, Nutrition, Scouting, and Stadium Safety courses. CAF A and B refresher sessions, FUFA Media Training, and Goalkeeper Level 1 programs are also planned.
CAF C Diploma courses will move to Mbarara and Mukono, and a new Sporting Director training module will be introduced.
The final quarter (October–December) wraps up with CAF D Coaching courses, refereeing programs—including sessions tailored specifically for women—and expanded futsal and beach soccer training.
A G2 Scouting Course and a FUFA Beach Soccer Referees Course will also be offered to enhance niche development areas.
FUFA has emphasized timely communication regarding all courses. Dates and venues will be announced at least 21 days before each program begins. If a course organizer does not publish required details within 14 days, the course will be considered cancelled.
