At the launch of the MTN-FUFA Awards 2024, MTN Uganda reaffirmed its longstanding support for football and the broader Ugandan sporting community.
Speaking at the ceremony, MTN Sponsorships and Events Manager John Paul Okwi said the company’s backing of the awards stems from football’s unique power to unite the nation.
“Football is the game of many colours, many tribes, and this aligns with what MTN believes in—Together We Are Unstoppable,” Okwi said.
“It is a very unique sport, and there is no way MTN cannot be part of it. The MTN-FUFA Awards will be one of the awards that will be marked on the national calendar.”
The MTN-FUFA Awards, now in their seventh edition, have become Uganda’s biggest football awards platform.
They recognize exceptional performances across different competitions and divisions, from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League to the women’s leagues, beach soccer, futsal, and fans’ contributions.
With MTN Uganda’s continued partnership, the 2024 edition will see deeper fan engagement, new awards categories, and an expanded reach, making this year’s ceremony the most ambitious yet.
