Kabula Ssaza team is in advanced negotiations to appoint Bukenya Micheal as their new head coach, replacing Eric Kisuze, who recently joined Buddu Ssaza team.
The move comes after a solid 2024 campaign for Kabula, which saw the team reach the quarterfinals of the Masaza Cup, where they were eliminated by eventual champions Buddu. Kabula had impressed during the group stages, showcasing significant improvement compared to previous seasons.
Bukenya, regarded as one of the most promising young coaches, brings a wealth of experience to the role.
He previously managed Kooki and spent last season with Buvuma Ssaza team, although the team struggled to make an impact.
Notably, Bukenya led Ngabi Nsamba to victory in the 2023 Bika Byabaganda tournament and also guided Catda FC to the regional league playoffs, further cementing his growing reputation.
Kabula’s decision to pursue Bukenya follows Buddu’s successful 2024 Masaza Cup campaign, where they defeated Kyaggwe 1-0 in the final at Namboole Stadium. Buddu’s appointment of Kisuze created the vacancy that Kabula is now moving quickly to fill.
An official announcement regarding Bukenya’s appointment is expected soon.
