London Marathon: Kiplimo Reflects on Transition From Half to Full Marathon After Record-Breaking Debut

Uganda’s Minister of Education and Sports and First Lady, Janet Museveni, has congratulated Stella Chesang and Jacob Kiplimo following their outstanding performances at the TCS London Marathon.

In a message shared on social media, Mrs. Museveni commended Chesang for setting a new national marathon record and Kiplimo for achieving a personal best time.

“Congratulations to Stella Chesang for setting a national record and to @jacobkiplimo2 for achieving a personal best! Your successes highlight the strength of Uganda’s athletics. We are grateful for your dedication and hard work. May God continue to bless your journeys,” she posted.

Chesang, competing in her marathon debut, finished sixth in the women’s race with a time of 2:22:42, breaking the previous Ugandan national record.

Meanwhile, Kiplimo secured second place in the men’s race with a time of 2:03:37, a new personal best and national record for Uganda.
