FUFA, KCCA Inspect Kadiba Stadium Ahead of CAF Visit and Uganda Cup Final

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) on Wednesday, April 30, hosted a delegation from the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) for an inspection of the newly constructed Kadiba Stadium in Rubaga Division, Kampala.

The visit, led by KCCA Deputy Executive Director Benon Moses Kigenyi, marked a key step in the stadium’s readiness ahead of upcoming CAF events.

The FUFA delegation included President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim, Vice President Justus Mugisha, and Executive Committee Member Ronnie Kalema, who guided the KCCA officials through various sections of the facility.

The inspection focused on pitch quality, accessibility, and spectator infrastructure, all of which will be assessed further when the Confederation of African Football (CAF) inspection team visits Uganda later in May.

Kadiba Stadium is one of the venues earmarked as a training ground for both the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) and the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which Uganda will co-host.

In a significant development, FUFA confirmed that the 2025 Uganda Cup final will be the first official match played at the Kadiba Stadium. This decision places the venue at the heart of Uganda’s domestic football scene even before it takes on continental duties.

Four clubs—Vipers SC, Kitara FC, KCCA FC, and Kataka FC—are currently in the semifinals of the 2024 Uganda Cup, with the eventual finalists set to make history by playing in the inaugural fixture at the new facility.
