Uganda Cranes forward Steven Mukwala continued his rich vein of form on Sunday, scoring twice to guide Simba SC to a 2-1 comeback victory over Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) in the Tanzanian NBC Premier League.
Mukwala cancelled out an early opener from KMC’s Rachid Chambo, then netted the winner just after halftime to seal Simba’s sixth consecutive league win—and their fourth in just nine days.
The Uganda Cranes forward capitalised on Simba’s swift attacking movements to score his first, drilling a low effort past Comorian goalkeeper Ali Ahamada after a chaotic sequence in the box.
He struck again shortly after the restart, latching onto a precise through ball to slot home the decisive goal and keep Simba within a point of league leaders Young Africans. Both sides have four matches remaining.
Mukwala’s double underlined his key role in Simba’s title chase and building momentum ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup final clash with Morocco’s RS Berkane.
The first leg is scheduled for May 17 in Berkane, with the return fixture set for May 25 in Dar es Salaam.
