Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has demanded Nicolas Jackson learn from his red card in the 2-0 loss to Newcastle, leaving the Blues without a striker for their final two crucial games.
Jackson was sent off for serious foul play, ruling him out against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest.
“No doubt he has to learn from it,” said Maresca, lamenting the absence of his main forward with Christopher Nkunku injured and Marc Guiu not fully fit.
Chelsea sit fifth, in a Champions League spot, but with Aston Villa level on points and Nottingham Forest just a point behind, Maresca feels they “need to win both games” to secure qualification.
The manager now faces a selection dilemma to fill the void left by Jackson’s costly mistake.
