FIFA President Gianni Infantino has announced a goal to generate $1 billion in revenue from the Women’s World Cup.
He made the remarks while speaking at the Saudi Arabia-US Investment Forum 2025.
This target follows the 2023 tournament in Australia and New Zealand, which broke even with over $570 million in revenue.
Infantino emphasised the “exponential” growth of women’s football and the plan to reinvest the $1 billion into the women’s game.
The 2027 World Cup will be hosted by Brazil, a first for South America, and the expanded 48-team 2031 edition is slated for the United States.
Infantino also pointed to the vast revenue potential outside Europe, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s “exceptionally good” progress in developing women’s football.
