Kyle Walker is set to return to Manchester City after AC Milan reportedly decided against a permanent move for the England defender.
Despite a reported £4.2m option, Milan will not sign the 34-year-old, who joined on loan in January.
Walker made 12 appearances but suffered an elbow fracture. Alex Jimenez’s form also influenced Milan’s decision. Walker had previously suggested a City return was possible.
Milan face Bologna in the Coppa Italia final on Friday, while City play Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
