Derrick White scored 34 points for the Celtics, while Jaylen Brown added 26 points and 12 assists.
The series now goes to New York for game five.
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Golden State Warriors 121-110, securing a 4-1 series win and a place in the Western Conference final.
Julius Randle scored 29 points for the Timberwolves. The Warriors were without Stephen Curry due to injury.
