FUFA Unveils New Trophy for Women Super League

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has unveiled the new FUFA Women Super League trophy which they say is a striking symbol of excellence, ambition, and the growing prominence of women’s football in the country.

Standing at 455mm, the trophy was unveiled on Wednesday and features a figurine of a woman, sculpted in a victorious pose, lifting a ball high above her head, a design that FUFA says captures the strength, elegance, and spirit of the athletes competing in the nation’s top-tier women’s league.

The central figurine leans forward with confidence, her arms raised in a V-shape as she holds the golden ball aloft.

The ball itself is set atop five layered tiers that form the trophy’s foundation, with each step symbolizing the growth, determination, and resilience of players climbing to the pinnacle of the sport.

Adding a dynamic element to the design is a flowing golden scarf that coils around the figurine and tiers, representing both the unity and individuality that define the FUFA Women Super League.

The entire structure rests on a solid two-tier pedestal inscribed with the league’s name.

In a statement, FUFA emphasized that the new trophy is more than just a reward for the champions. “This trophy celebrates the spirit and brilliance of women in football. By raising this emblem of achievement, we reaffirm our commitment to growing the women’s game in Uganda,” the federation noted.

The unveiling comes at a time when the league is gaining momentum with Kampala Queens in the lead with 47 points after 19 games.
