Glasner: FA Cup Win Would Mean More to Palace Than City

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner believes an FA Cup victory on Saturday would be more significant for his trophy-starved club than for serial winners Manchester City, led by Pep Guardiola.

While City chase their 19th trophy under Guardiola, Palace have never won major silverware, losing two previous FA Cup finals.

Glasner acknowledged City’s desire to avoid a first trophyless season in eight years but argued, “If something is the first time in your life, then maybe it means more to you.”

Despite City’s dominance, Glasner expects a fierce contest and is hopeful influential midfielder Adam Wharton will be fit.

Palace can take heart from a 2-2 draw against City earlier in the season, and their semi-final win has prompted some to back an upset.

“It’s football. So many things can happen,” Glasner stated, adding, “nobody knows the result, but we feel ready to win it.” .
