Mason Mount is desperate to help Manchester United rescue their disappointing season by winning Wednesday’s Europa League final against Tottenham.
The midfielder aims to put a “tough couple of years” plagued by injuries behind him.
Despite a disrupted first season after his move from Chelsea in July 2023, the 26-year-old played a key role in United’s Europa League semi-final, scoring a brace against Athletic Bilbao.
After another 70 minutes against former club Chelsea, Mount feels he’s “getting better and better” and is pushing to start the final.
Acknowledging United’s poor league form, currently 16th, Mount stressed the importance of the Europa League.
“We know the league is not good enough… but the Europa League is something that we look forward to as a final, and we want to win that final. It’s a trophy and it’s Champions League football for next season, so we’ll do everything in our power to win that game.”
