Versatile sports journalist and commentator Jermaine Egesa, who works with Next Media’s 24/7 sports brand NBS Sport, has been selected to provide expert commentary for the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final between Tanzania’s Simba SC and RS Berkane.
Egesa will be in the commentary booth, delivering his melodic and poetic analysis as Simba seeks to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit against the Moroccan side. The decisive tie is scheduled for Sunday at Amaan Stadium in Tanzania.
“It’s another opportunity to add my voice and knowledge to something really important. I’m amazed, excited, and confident I’ll give it my best, like I’ve always done in the past,” Egesa said as he departed for ‘Simba-land’.
This assignment marks the latest milestone in Egesa’s career. He previously covered the 2023 African Nations Championship (CHAN), the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, the 2024 Rugby Africa tournament, and the CAF U15 African Schools Championship final held in Zanzibar earlier this year.
Where It All Started
Egesa’s passion for commentary was sparked during his university days, when he first had the chance to try his hand at it, a moment that proved to be life-changing.
Since then, he has dedicated himself to perfecting his craft, practicing relentlessly to become the best sports commentator he can be.
He has been a regular voice across several TV and radio platforms at Next Media Services, offering expert analysis and insightful commentary on a wide range of matches.
