Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, whose contract with Al-Nassr expires this summer, might still feature in the expanded 32-team Club World Cup, according to FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
Despite Al-Nassr failing to qualify for the tournament in the United States, Infantino revealed “discussions” are underway for the 40-year-old Portuguese forward to potentially join another participating club.
This news comes amid a new transfer window (June 1-10) specifically for the event.
While an unnamed Brazilian club has been linked, Infantino’s comments, made during an interview with streamer IShowSpeed, hint at a potential high-profile short-term deal that could see Ronaldo reunite on the field with rival Lionel Messi, whose Inter Miami side is confirmed for the tournament.
