Namuwongo Blazers Lead the Pack as NBL Second-Round Fixtures Revealed

The National Basketball League (NBL) has unveiled its revised second-round fixture list, setting the stage for a high-stakes push toward the 2025 playoffs.

In the Men’s Division, the Namuwongo Blazers Basketball Club leads the standings with a flawless 11-0 record, amassing 22 points.

Their dominant form has made them early title contenders, with the KCCA Panthers close behind in second place at 8-3.

The JT Jaguars BBC, UCU Canons, and Kampala Rockets are in a three-way tie, each holding 7-4 records and 18 points, while the Victoria Crocs remain within striking distance at 6-5.

Defending champions City Oilers Basketball Club find themselves in unfamiliar territory, currently sitting seventh with a 5-6 record.

The champions face mounting pressure to reverse their form in the second round if they are to maintain their postseason presence.

Rezlife Saints and Sommet BC also share a 5-6 record, keeping the battle for the final playoff spots wide open. The JKL Dolphins Men trail in 10th position.

The Women’s Division presents an equally tight contest. The KCCA Leopards Basketball Club and JT Lady Jaguars BBC are neck-and-neck at the top, each with 9-1 records and 19 points.

The Leopards edge ahead slightly based on point differential. Not far behind, the JKL Lady Dolphins are third with 8 wins and 2 losses.

Magic Stormers Basketball, UCU Lady Canons, KIU Rangers Basketball, and Miracle Eagleaglets are all firmly in the hunt for playoff qualification.

Key matchups in the second round are expected to significantly shape the playoff landscape.

On Friday, May 30th, the JKL Lady Dolphins take on the KCCA Leopards at the Lugogo Indoor Arena in a top-tier women’s clash.

The same day will also see the JT Jaguars challenge the unbeaten Namuwongo Blazers.

Other notable fixtures include the KCCA Panthers versus UCU Canons on May 31st at YMCA-Wandegeya and the City Oilers’ critical encounter with Livingstone on June 1st.

With playoff implications hanging in the balance, the second round promises heightened intensity and drama.

Fans can follow the action live on NBS Sport.
