Decorated Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti has been officially unveiled as Brazil’s new head coach, declaring the Selecao the “best team in the world” and aiming to win the 2026 World Cup.
The 65-year-old, a five-time Champions League winner, joins after a successful four-year tenure at Real Madrid. Ancelotti replaces Dorival Junior, who was sacked after a recent loss to Argentina.
Brazil, five-time World Cup champions, has struggled recently. Ancelotti’s first games will be crucial World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador (June 5) and Paraguay (June 10).
His initial squad sees the return of Casemiro and Richarlison, while Neymar misses out due to injury.
