South Africa’s U-17 national team, Amajimbos, is focused on advancing past the group stage at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025.
Drawn in Group A with hosts Qatar, Italy, and Bolivia, coach Vela Khumalo sees the challenging fixtures as a vital development opportunity.
The expanded 48-team tournament kicks off on November 3. Amajimbos will open against Qatar, followed by matches against Italy and Bolivia.
Khumalo, who guided the team in their recent U-17 AFCON campaign, emphasizes mental readiness for the global showcase.
“We’re preparing not just to participate, but to compete and progress,” Khumalo stated, confident his squad can make their mark in Qatar.
