Saudi Arabian officials are in “difficult” talks to keep Cristiano Ronaldo in the country after the star hinted at leaving Al Nassr.
A source from the Public Investment Fund (PIF) confirmed ongoing negotiations, highlighting Ronaldo’s crucial role in the Saudi Pro League’s development.
While keeping him in the league is the “first option,” a transfer to Al Hilal or Al Ahli, offering a chance to feature in the FIFA Club World Cup, is also being considered.
This aligns with a special June 1-10 transfer window for Club World Cup teams, and FIFA president Gianni Infantino has already discussed Ronaldo’s potential participation.
Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr expires next month, and his recent “This chapter is over” post fueled speculation after Al Nassr finished trophyless.
