Liverpool have completed the €35 million (£29.5 million) signing of Dutch international Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year deal.
The move for the 24-year-old right-back comes swiftly after the confirmation of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s transfer to Real Madrid.
Frimpong, a key player in Leverkusen’s recent Bundesliga triumph, is widely viewed as Alexander-Arnold’s replacement. He joins a growing Dutch contingent at Anfield.
In related transfer news, Liverpool are also in advanced negotiations with Leverkusen for Germany forward Florian Wirtz, with an offer of around £109 million on the table and an agreement seemingly close.
