Everton have confirmed the permanent signing of midfielder Carlos Alcaraz, triggering the option to convert his loan spell into a full transfer next month.
The 22-year-old Argentina Under-23 international will join the club from Brazilian side Flamengo for an undisclosed fee.
Alcaraz, who arrived at Goodison Park on loan in February, enjoyed a successful period, contributing two goals and three assists across 16 appearances for the Toffees.
He is set to sign a two-year contract, committing his future to Everton until June 2027.
Before his move to Flamengo last August—where he won the Copa do Brasil—Alcaraz had a stint in the Premier League with Southampton.
He joined the Saints in January 2023 from Argentina’s Racing Club in a £12m deal, making 48 appearances for the club.
In January 2024, despite signing a new long-term contract with Southampton, he moved to Juventus on loan and was part of the squad that won the Coppa Italia.
