Simone Inzaghi has left Inter Milan by “mutual agreement,” the Serie A club announced Tuesday, just three days after their crushing 5-0 Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 49-year-old, who joined Inter in 2021 and won six trophies, is heavily linked with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
Inzaghi, who reached two Champions League finals with Inter, expressed gratitude to the fans in a farewell message.
Inter president Giuseppe Marotta thanked him for his “passion” and “sincerity” in discussions leading to the separation.
Inzaghi’s departure precedes Inter’s participation in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup, where Al-Hilal will also compete.
