Cranes Assemble Full Squad in Morocco Ahead of Friendlies Against Cameroon and Gambia

The Uganda Cranes have assembled a full 27-man squad in Marrakech, Morocco, as preparations intensify for two high-stakes international friendlies against Cameroon and Gambia.

The final group of foreign-based players; Bobosi Byaruhanga, Elio Capradossi, Jordan Obita, Allan Oyirwoth, Isaac Muleme, and Elvis Bwomono, arrived at camp on Tuesday, completing the team’s roster.

Their arrival followed that of Wigan Athletic defender Toby Sibbick, who was the first among the foreign legion to report to camp.

However, the squad will be without striker Steven Mukwala, who was forced to withdraw due to a minor injury sustained while on duty with Tanzanian Premier League side Simba SC.

His absence reduces the number of available foreign-based players from the initially expected eight to seven.

Head coach Paul Put now has a full squad at his disposal, with the second training session scheduled for Tuesday evening at the team’s temporary base in Marrakech.

All 27 players are expected to take part as Uganda continues fine-tuning tactics and team chemistry.

The Cranes are using the Morocco training camp to prepare for two international friendlies. They will face continental heavyweights Cameroon on Friday, June 6, before taking on Gambia three days later on Monday, June 9.

These fixtures are seen as critical tests for the squad ahead of upcoming competitive matches, including the resumption of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
