Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor is reportedly willing to sell his shares at a significant discount to allow the club to play in this season’s Europa League.
UEFA rules prohibit individuals from involvement with multiple clubs in the same competition, a conflict for Textor’s Eagle Football, which also owns Lyon, a Europa League qualifier.
Palace earned their spot by winning the FA Cup. While a meeting between Palace partners and UEFA ended without a decision, a ruling is expected soon.
Textor, who owns 45% of Palace and 90% of Lyon, is offering his shares at under 25% of their market value to ensure Palace’s European participation, despite previously seeking greater control of the club.
