African football’s governing body, CAF, has inked a significant partnership with tech firm TECNO, naming them the Official Global Partner for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 and the 2027 tournament in East Africa.
Announced on Thursday in Nairobi by CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba and TECNO Vice President Shiming Jiang, the deal deepens a relationship that began with TECNO’s successful smartphone sponsorship of the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
“We thank CAF and its President Dr. Motsepe for the vision to grow football in Africa. Together, we can achieve great things,” said Jiang, highlighting a shared commitment to developing the sport across the continent.
This extended partnership is expected to boost the tournament’s profile and TECNO’s reach among Africa’s passionate football fans.
The agreement comes as CAF remains active with initiatives like the recent Women Instructors Development Program (WIDP) seminar, which explored AI’s role in women’s football, and with more important announcements expected soon from President Dr. Patrice Motsepe.
