FUFA President Moses Magogo has congratulated Vipers Sports Club following their successful 2024/25 campaign, during which the club secured both the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title and the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
In a formal statement issued on behalf of the FUFA Executive and its members, Magogo described the club’s double triumph as “a true testament to the hard work, resilience and dedication” of everyone involved at Vipers, from the players and coaches to the technical and administrative teams.
“Their commitment to excellence both on and off the pitch has been evident throughout the season,” the statement read.
Vipers wrapped up their campaign with a commanding 2-0 victory over KCCA in the Uganda Cup final on Saturday at Kadiba Stadium, having already clinched the league title with 69 points, two clear of NEC.
It marked the second domestic double in the club’s top-flight history, matching their 2022/23 achievement.
Magogo also commended the role of Vipers’ supporters, highlighting their passionate and consistent backing as a vital component of the club’s successful season.
“Your fans have created a vibrant atmosphere that has undoubtedly inspired the team and added a unique spirit to this memorable campaign,” he added.
FUFA expressed optimism that this milestone would further boost football development both within Vipers SC and across the country, especially as the club gears up for continental competition.
“We wish you all the best as you also plan to represent the country on the continent,” Magogo concluded.
Vipers’ double places them in an elite category of Ugandan clubs to achieve the feat more than once, joining SC Villa, who have managed it on six occasions. Express and KCCA have each completed the double once.
