Borussia Dortmund has turned down Chelsea’s offer exceeding £42 million for English winger Jamie Gittens.
The rejected bid puts Gittens’ potential participation in the Club World Cup for Chelsea in jeopardy, with a crucial transfer deadline looming on Tuesday evening.
Despite Gittens’ reported desire for a move to Stamford Bridge and a seven-year contract offer, the clubs are far apart on valuation.
Chelsea remains interested in Gittens even after the deadline, while also eyeing Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus.
The 20-year-old, who scored eight goals last season, came through Manchester City’s academy before joining Dortmund in 2020.
