West Ham United has delayed a decision on Michail Antonio’s future, as the 35-year-old forward recovers from a serious car accident in December.
Antonio, whose contract expires on June 30th, sustained a broken leg when his Ferrari struck a tree.
The club cited Antonio’s “unique situation,” stating no formal decision will be made until the “right and appropriate” time, with his recovery being their “absolute priority.”
Antonio, West Ham’s record Premier League goalscorer, will be listed as a free transfer for Premier League procedures.
In other news, France international Kurt Zouma, 30, on loan at Al-Orobah FC, will leave West Ham at the end of the month.
This follows last month’s announcement that Aaron Cresswell, Vladimir Coufal, Lukasz Fabianski, and Danny Ings will also depart as their contracts expire.
