Liverpool are in advanced talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz for a potential club-record fee of £114 million.
The Reds’ third bid, worth £100 million guaranteed plus £14 million in add-ons, would smash their previous transfer record.
Wirtz, 22, has expressed his desire to join Liverpool despite interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
He has been a key figure for Leverkusen, scoring 57 goals in 197 games and helping them win the Bundesliga in 2024. He also has seven goals in 31 appearances for Germany.
This would be Liverpool’s second signing from Leverkusen this summer, following the £34 million arrival of Jeremie Frimpong.
If completed, Wirtz would become one of only a handful of players to command a £100m+ transfer fee.
