FUFA Invites Parliament to Stadium Tour and Star-Studded Match

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has rolled out the red carpet for the Parliament of Uganda, inviting lawmakers to tour several of the country’s top football facilities from June 16 to 18.

The headline stop is Kadiba Stadium, FUFA’s newest project, which will host the legislators for a hands-on look at the infrastructure powering Ugandan football.

The tour is part of FUFA’s routine facility reviews, but this edition carries extra weight. Parliament has been one of the sport’s strongest supporters in pushing for more government funding, and this visit aims to cement that alliance.

Along with Kadiba, the delegation will visit Lugazi Stadium, Mutesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku, and the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The highlight of the three-day program will be a friendly but highly anticipated football match pitting the FUFA Presidents’ XI against the Parliament Football Team. It’s more than just a game—it’s a showcase of shared vision, football talent, and national pride.

FUFA’s Communications Director, Ahmed Hussein, said the event isn’t just ceremonial. “This initiative promotes football development and advocates for increased access to the sport for all Ugandans,” he said.

The President’s XI will field local football legends like Hassan Mubiru, Hakim Magumba, Alex Isabirye, and Tony Mawejje. On the opposing side, Parliament’s team will be led by coach Tom Lwanga, a former Uganda Cranes defender.
