World No. 1 Jannik Sinner is looking to put “sleepless nights” behind him at the Halle Open, using the tournament as a chance to bounce back from his agonizing French Open final loss to Carlos Alcaraz.
The Italian revealed he’s still haunted by the three championship points he squandered in the epic five-set showdown, the longest final in Roland Garros history.
“I think that for me to play another tournament is positive, because every match is a new beginning,” Sinner stated, aiming to “forget the negative things.”
The defending Halle champion views the event as crucial preparation for Wimbledon, acknowledging, “I had already a few sleepless nights, but I think every day it gets better.”
Sinner, who admitted his first practice on grass felt “not so perfect,” is keen to build on the strides he made on the surface last year as he gears up for his Wimbledon title bid.
