Manchester United Targets Double Title by 2028 Under CEO Omar Berrada

Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada has set an ambitious goal: to win both the men’s and women’s league titles by 2028, coinciding with the club’s 150th anniversary.

This initiative, dubbed ‘Project 150,’ was unveiled in a recent interview, despite the men’s team’s recent struggles and the women’s team facing strong competition.

Berrada, drawing parallels to Barcelona’s rapid resurgence in the early 2000s, expressed confidence in achieving this target.

“Why not aim for it? Why not do everything in our power?” he stated, emphasizing the importance of high aspirations. He believes that two or three summer transfer windows will be sufficient to build competitive squads.

While acknowledging recent financial setbacks and redundancies, Berrada highlighted the positive impact of the £50m Carrington training ground upgrade.

He reiterated the club’s commitment to the women’s team’s success, aligning with minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s philosophy of winning.

Berrada also drew parallels between men’s team coach Ruben Amorim’s challenging start and Pep Guardiola’s initial struggles at Manchester City, expressing confidence that these difficulties will ultimately benefit the club.

“We’ve put the worst part of this transformation phase behind us and now we’re going to start building,” Berrada affirmed, expressing strong confidence in United’s return to the top.
