Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has confirmed that Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy is under contract until 2027, dismissing recent speculation of his departure.
Rumours had linked McCarthy with a return to Orlando Pirates in South Africa.
However, Mohammed, speaking on Citizen TV, stated, “Benni McCarthy’s term is up to 2027, immediately after AFCON. He is employed like any other employee.”
He clarified that any discussions regarding his salary or potential exit would be a private matter requiring mutual consent and adherence to a “short period” notice clause.
McCarthy has overseen four matches since taking charge, with a record of one win, two draws, and one loss, including a recent 2-1 victory over Chad.
