Championship winners Leeds United will conclude the weekend’s action against Everton at Elland Road on Monday night. Manchester City, aiming for a strong start after a trophyless season, will face Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The season will comprise 380 games over 33 weekends and five midweek rounds, concluding on Sunday, May 24. The August 15 start date prioritizes “maximum player rest time.”
Notably, the festive period will see no club play twice in less than 60 hours. This season also ushers in the new Premier League TV deal, ensuring nearly every game will be broadcast live.
According to Opta data, Manchester United face the most challenging start, with three of their first five games against last season’s top four.
Arsenal also have a tough opening run, including matches against Liverpool and Manchester City. In contrast, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are deemed to have the easiest initial fixtures.
