In a bid to mount a renaissance, 13-time Uganda Premier holders KCCA FC have appointed Jackson Magera and Brian Ssenyondo as the men at the helm of technical proceedings.
The duo take over from Abdallah Mubiru as co-coaches for the head coach role at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Mubiru was sacked a few matches to the end of the 2024/25 campaign, following a spell of wobbly results. He was temporarily succeeded by Magera as the interim coach.
The decision by KCCA to appoint Magera and Ssenyondo as co-coaches is a precedent to what Vipers did last season with John ‘Ayala Luyinda and Fred Muhumuza.
The duo took over from Serbian Nikola Kavazovic, who was sacked after just three League matches. They went on to lift both the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup trophies.
Meanwhile, Magera is versed, as he has been in multiple coaching roles, including working as a head coach at League record holders SC Villa.
Meanwhile, Ssenyondo has worked at various clubs including at Synergy FC, UPDF FC, as well as Kitara FC, which is the most recent spell in the Uganda Premier League. He’s also the current Uganda U17 head coach, which he guided to the World Cup.
