NEC are closing in on the signing of experienced left-back Mustafa Kizza, who is expected to ink a two-year deal with the Uganda Premier League runners-up.
The left back known for his deadly left foot and all-round impact on both ends of the pitch, is in advanced talks with the club.
Kizza’s arrival would fill a major gap left by Rashid Okocha, who recently moved to South Sudan’s Jamus FC.
NEC see the former KCCA and Express man as a natural replacement as they prepare for their debut campaign in continental football.
NEC finished second in the league with 67 points and have been aggressively reinforcing their squad ahead of a demanding season.
The club has already brought in Titus Ssematimba, Warren Buule, Daniel Shabena, and Hudson Mbalire.
Kizza brings high-level experience both domestically and abroad.
After rising through the ranks at KCCA, he earned a move to CF Montréal in Major League Soccer. He also had spells in Portugal with Arouca, a return stint at Express, and most recently played for Telecom FC in Egypt.
If the deal is finalized, Kizza will add experience, balance, and attacking quality to NEC’s backline as they gear up for both league and continental duties.
