Two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant has acquired a minority stake in Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Champions League winners.
The Phoenix Suns forward has entered a strategic partnership with Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), PSG’s majority owners, aiming to bolster the club’s planned expansion into basketball.
Durant, a four-time Olympic gold medalist, expressed his honor and excitement, stating, “This club has big plans and I look forward to being part of the next phase of growth and exploring new investment opportunities with QSI.”
This move follows QSI’s recent interest in owning a franchise in a proposed European basketball league, a joint initiative by the NBA and FIBA.
PSG will also collaborate with Durant’s media and investment company, Boardroom, on various commercial, investment, and content initiatives, with Durant supporting the club’s diversification and growth.
Durant, who won two NBA titles with the Golden State Warriors and an Olympic gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, was recently listed among Forbes’ highest-paid athletes for 2025. QSI’s ownership since 2011 has seen PSG achieve 11 Ligue 1 titles and their first Champions League trophy last month.
