Masindi Army Secondary School cemented its place as a local powerhouse in athletics after dominating the 2025 Masindi District Athletics Qualifiers held on Friday June 20.
The one-day meet brought together more than 12 schools in a fierce showcase of speed, strength, and school pride.
From sprints to field events, Masindi Army outclassed their rivals, topping both the boys’ and girls’ overall standings with a commanding lead.
Their boys’ team racked up 189 points, far ahead of second-placed Masindi SS with 107. Kabalega SS followed closely with 106 points, while Jordan Pride and Bwijanga SS rounded out the top five.
In the girls’ category, Masindi Army was even more dominant, scoring 212 points. Masindi SS once again settled for second with 130 points, followed by Jordan Pride with 105. St Theresa came in fourth, while Ikoba Girls closed the top five.
The event featured classic track contests like the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, and 5000m, alongside high-energy relays. Field events such as discus, javelin, shot put, and the jumps also tested the athletes’ versatility and grit.
With this victory, Masindi Army now turns its focus to the national competition in Tororo, where the stakes will be higher and the competition stiffer.
