After weeks of negotiations, Ugandan international and versatile midfielder Enock Ssebaggala has reportedly reached an agreement with Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC over a move this window, pending unveiling.
The 24-year-old is set to sign a two-year contract with the Venoms, who are strengthening their team ahead of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League. The team targets stout showing on the continent, with their target being the group stages.
He has featured for NEC for the past two seasons, but the club fell short in their attempt to renew his contract, as they couldn’t meet his personal terms.
Ssebaggala is set to be a direct replacement for workaholic Karim Watambala, who is likely to exit the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende amidst interest from Tanzanian side Azam FC.
In the recently concluded campaign, Ssebaggala made 26 appearances across the Uganda Premier League and Uganda Cup, scoring four goals and providing five assists. Last season, the midfielder featured in 20 league matches, recording three goals and registering four assists.
Meanwhile, on the international stage, Ssebaggala, made his senior debut for the Uganda Cranes this year, featuring in a friendly as they drew one-all with The Gambia.
