Premier League broadcasts are set for a major shake-up next season, introducing in-game interviews with substituted players and limited dressing room camera access.
These pioneering changes, part of a record-breaking £6.6 billion, four-year domestic TV deal, aim to bring fans closer to the action.
Inspired by US sports coverage, recently substituted players will now be interviewed on the touchline during live matches.
Additionally, camera operators will briefly be allowed onto the field for close-up goal celebration footage, and restricted access to dressing rooms will offer a new behind-the-scenes perspective.
The new deal empowers Sky and TNT to broadcast up to 270 live games per season. The BBC will continue to air highlights on “Match of the Day” and “Football Focus,” along with expanded digital rights.
These innovations mark a significant step in enhancing fan engagement and ushering in a new era for Premier League television.
