Thousands of UFC fighters are set to receive substantial payouts, with some exceeding $1 million, from a landmark antitrust lawsuit settlement.
The agreement, totaling £281 million (approximately $350 million USD), addresses claims that the UFC suppressed fighters’ ability to negotiate promotional options between 2010 and 2017.
Remarkably, 97% of the estimated 1,100 affected fighters have applied for funds. According to law firm Berger Montague, 35 fighters are projected to net over $1 million, nearly 100 over $500,000, and over 500 fighters will receive in excess of $100,000.
This significant payout comes as the UFC, which merged with WWE in 2023 to form the TKO Group, hosts its International Fight Week.
While this case concludes, the UFC faces another ongoing antitrust lawsuit, “Johnson v. Zuffa,” seeking damages and changes to business practices for fighters from 2017 to the present.
