After 14 years and 7 months of dedicated service, Paul Kabaikaramu has stepped down as Uganda Premier League (UPL) and Uganda Super League (USL) manager, officially signing out on 30th June.
In an emotional farewell message, Kabaikaramu reflected on a journey filled with challenges and triumphs. “It has not been a smooth journey all the way; a lot has happened, both negative and positive. It was never a one-man journey but rather a collective effort,” he wrote.
Joining the league setup in 2010 and officially coming on board with the UPL in 2014, Kabaikaramu played a key role in attempting to professionalize the league, improving club management, and increasing fan engagement.
He expressed special gratitude to FUFA President Moses Magogo and CEO Edgar Watson, saying, “Thank you for recognizing my potential and for helping me grow my football management career along the way.”
Kabaikaramu also thanked club CEOs, board members, and the media, noting, “The bond between myself and many of you will last forever.”
Though stepping away from the Secretariat, he hinted at staying connected to the game, writing, “I will still be a part of football, probably in a different capacity.”
Kabaikaramu’s departure marks the end of a transformative era for the UPL. His leadership legacy, built on passion and commitment, will remain a benchmark for future football administrators in Uganda.
