Paul Pogba has officially joined AS Monaco on a two-year deal, marking an emotional return to football after a nearly two-year suspension.
The 32-year-old French international, whose Juventus contract was terminated following a doping ban, expressed his “super determination” to regain peak form.
Pogba, who broke down in tears while signing, sees this move as a fresh start in Ligue 1, a league he’s never played in.
“I really liked the project,” he told Monaco’s club media, citing the conditions and the opportunity to play in France as key factors.
His career has been significantly disrupted by injury and suspension, with only 161 minutes of play since 2022.
With Monaco securing a Champions League spot, Pogba is eager to rebuild.
He acknowledged the challenge of regaining fitness, stating, “Training is not the same as being with a group. There will be a personalised program.”
