Ansu Fati has officially joined AS Monaco on a one-year loan, simultaneously extending his contract with Barcelona until June 2028.
The move, confirmed on July 1, 2025, sees the 22-year-old forward aiming to revive his career alongside Paul Pogba in Ligue 1.
The loan includes an €11 million purchase option for Monaco, with Barcelona retaining a repurchase clause.
Fati’s development has been hampered by injuries, limiting him to just 11 appearances for Barcelona last season. His previous loan at Brighton in 2023 yielded four goals in 27 games.
Monaco offers Fati a fresh start and a chance to regain the form that saw him become Barcelona’s youngest-ever Champions League goalscorer at 17 years and 40 days old.
