Brentford’s star forward Bryan Mbeumo might still be a Bee next season despite strong interest from Manchester United, who’ve had two bids rejected, including one for £62.5m.
While Mbeumo, 25, reportedly wants to join United, Brentford’s director of football Phil Giles stated, “It is not impossible he is still a Brentford player next season if we agree he is going to stay,” adding that any sale would only happen if it’s “the right deal” for the club.
Meanwhile, Brentford captain Christian Norgaard is close to sealing a move to Arsenal.
Giles confirmed ongoing talks, saying the deal for the Denmark midfielder, reportedly worth up to £15m, is “heading in that direction.”
He praised Norgaard, stating, “If that happens for him then fantastic, he’s earned it. He’s been a brilliant captain for us.”
